Sausage Rolls
Sorry there is no picture but I haven’t cooked these yet. We have a tradition in my section at work called “pies”. If any event occurs that’s worthy of some sort of recognition then the person involved is required to put on pies.
Some of these events include birthdays, promotions, retirements and even speeding fines in a work car.
Most people head to the supermarket and buy up a swag of ready made goods and just heat them up in the toaster ovens at work.
But these week we had a girl who got a promotion who went to the trouble of making her own sausage rolls. They were so good that there was actually party pies left over because everyone filled up on the sausage rolls. I was lucky enough to be emailed the recipe. I think someone was hoping that I’d go to the effort for my birthday next week, Unfortunately I’m not set up for baking so they will miss out until I am.
But give the sausage roll recipe a try, they are ideal party food that tastes great.
Here is the recipe……….
The variations to this recipe were:
* sausage mince was replaced by curried lamb sausages, I have also used Texas BBQ flavour which were also good but probably a bit spicier.
* we also added a teaspoon of minced garlic & a teaspoon of wholegrain mustard.
* because we used flavoured sausages we did not add the bbq sauce
Cheers

Are you sure about the zucchini??? Perhaps that’s been the secret ingredient missing from my recipe! My English born husband misses good English sausage rolls. Not many to be found on the streets of Boston. Cheers! Kathy
